ACT!, a customer relationship management (CRM) software application by Sage Group, helps in tracking details of clients and prospects in a single database. This application can have multiple users and integrates with popular applications like Microsoft Outlook, Word among others. It can track and generate communications with different users in the ACT! database. This CRM software has over 2.7 million registered users, and more than 41,000 corporate customers.

Sage Group distributes ACT! crm software application to users around the world. It was first released in 1987 by Pat Sullivan and Mike Muhney, the founders of the company, ‘Conductor Software.’ This crm software was originally termed as "Activity Control Technology," but gained popularity as ACT! and established a niche in the contact management software category.

ACT! is credited for being a part of the first wave of PC-based applications, developed in C++. It is available in three versions, each targeting a different audience. ACT! by Sage, utilizes Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Express and is limited to 10 active users. CRM ACT! by Sage Premium, with less than 30 users is targeted at small to medium-sized businesses. ACT! by Sage Premium for Web, supports Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Express and 2005 Standard. This product is targeted at businesses which prefer to access data on their own servers over the Internet.

The features of ACT! CRM include communication tools, contact management, reports, the ability to synchronize data over the web or from applications. It features a variety of "dashboards" that help businesses in finding prospective customers.

The latest version, ACT! Sage crm 2010 (12.0) is expected to provide accounting products and more links to social media sites.
